MALAGA CITY |
Malaga,
the fifth largest city in Spain is a wonderfully
surprising mix of traditional Andalucian city
and modern metropolis. Situated just 15 minutes
transfer from the airport, it offers an array
of great hotels and conference facilities,
excellent restaurants and tapas bars, buzzing
nightlife and some marvellous cultural and
historical sights.
Since its beginnings in 800
BC Malaga has always been an important port.
During its long and colourful history it
has seen invasion and colonisation by the
Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths,
Moors and was finally conquered by the Catholic
Kings in the late 15 th Century.
Each culture left behind their mark in terms
of monuments and architecture, including
a Roman ampitheatre and the impressive Moorish
alcazaba which dominates the city’s
skyline. |
