Malaga City

The second largest city in Andalucia is a wonderfully surprising mix of traditional Spanish city and modern metropolis which has mostly escaped ex-pat attention and remains completely different from the rest of the surrounding Costa del Sol.

With plenty of restoration around the city centre in the past couple of years, Malaga City is gradually becoming recognised worldwide as a popular tourist destination. And with major projects already underway including a port and marina due in 2008 to compete with the likes of Barcelona or Valencia as well as a new metro system and a new terminal at Malaga airport, it's a city waiting to be discovered.

Situated just 15 minutes transfer from the airport, it offers good hotels, excellent restaurants and tapas bars, a buzzing nightlife, a 2 km sandy beach with fantastic weather for most of the year and a good helping of history. The city centre and its many attractions are a wonderful place to wander around. A fantastic place to see some cultural sights in the morning, have a lovely lazy lunch on the beach, enjoy a pampering session at the Turkish baths, do some shopping (at fantastic prices!) and party on till dawn the next day, or even later if you aren’t exhausted after all that!
